July 2010
I am delighted to announce that I will be part of Design Factory's latest exhibition which is to be held at Catmose Gallery in Oakham, Rutland. 'Fusion' is a partnership between Design Factory and Catmose Gallery as part of a series of events across the region which will showcase selected designer/makers and associates. 'Fusion' runs from july to August 2010 and more details can be found here.
I am busy creating new designs which will be showcased at Lustre in November 2010 and will be updating my website soon with up and coming events for the remainder of the year!
Meanwhile my new 'Fragments' brooches are available here.
April 2010
A very much delayed news update here but I have lots of news and even more to look forward to!
Most exciting is my first attendance at the British Craft Trade Fair in Harrogate from the 11th to 13th of April - if you are attending for trade then you will find me in the newcomers section at stand 36 so pop by and say hello!
I have also just received the wonderful news that I have been accepted to exhibit my work at Lustre. I am very excited to be a part of this very important contemporary craft show in the midlands.
Should you find yourself in, or wishing to go to the beautiful city of Lincoln, my work is part of a display of Design Factory members work at The Collection, museum through April and May.
You can find me at various events dotted around the county over the coming months so please keep an eye on my forthcoming events page for up to date details - or even better, sign up to my newsletter via my contact page to receive details to your email address.
I have also become a tweeter - so follow me there for the odd snippets of information on events and the odd tweet about my daily working life.

Up and coming collaborations with Nottingham Designer Debbie Bryan
I am excited to announce a collaboration I am working on with artist and designer Debbie Bryan just in time for the opening of her new Studio and Shop in the Lacemarket, Nottingham. This new work will combine my character sculptures and Debbies incredibly nostalgic resin buttons to create a unique visual story. Soon to be available at Debbie Bryan Studio and Shop from the 17th June 2009.
Also to add to this work will be a range of my own hand-crocheted and hand-dyed trims which will co-ordinate beautifully with the hand-dyed Nottingham Lace and unique resin buttons which make up a unique range of haberdashery items by Debbie Bryan. A unique range to add an individual touch to your clothing and accessories.

Studio Move and New Collection
Gillian Lee Smith is on the move! My studio is moving into a wonderful new space in the next few weeks. Currently dreaming up new themes and sketching new ideas for a collection of work, I will be able to start making and pulling this all together once the (moving) dust has settled. Look out for a new collection which will be revealed in August/September 2009.
